PLJetPack
High-Performance Jetpacks for Paper 1.21+
What is PLJetPack?
PLJetPack is a production-ready,
item-based jetpack plugin for Minecraft Paper servers.
Players use
colored leather chestplates as jetpacks, each with its own tier, speed profile, height limit, and fuel tank.
No texture packs. No ItemsAdder dependency. Just install and play.
Why server owners choose PLJetPack
- ⚡ Performance-first design — physics only runs for active jetpack users
- ⛽ True fuel system — fuel is stored directly on each jetpack item
- ️ Fully configurable tiers — boost, hover, max height, fuel usage, permissions
- Admin fuel editor GUI — drag & drop fuel items into slots and save instantly
- ️ Exploit-conscious behavior — shift-click unequip handling + item safety logic
- Modern messaging — clean MiniMessage-formatted plugin output
Core Features
1) Tiered Jetpacks
- Default tiers included: scout, ranger, overlord
- Each tier has custom display name, color, speed, hover, max-height, and fuel stats
- Permission-gated access for donor ranks or progression systems
2) Custom Jetpack Flight Engine
- Custom movement loop for consistent jetpack feel
- Hover behavior when idle
- Configurable ascent/descent profiles
- Velocity clamping to keep movement stable
- Max height enforcement by tier
3) Fuel Economy
- Fuel value is tied to physical items (example: coal/charcoal)
- Right-click refueling while wearing a jetpack
- Fuel bar + amount shown in jetpack lore
- Fuel is consumed only while actually moving/hovering in flight logic
4) Admin Fuel GUI
- /pljetpack fuelgui opens a 54-slot editor
- Top row (slots 0–8) acts as fuel definition slots
- Drop in custom items (including custom model data variants)
- Close to save directly to config
5) Commands & Permissions
- /jetpack — open jetpack selector
- /pljetpack give <player> <tier> — give specific tier
- /pljetpack fuelgui — open fuel editor
